FIRST RECORD YOU BOUGHT?
"It was Tommy Steele's 'Knee Deep In The Blues' on Decca Records. Unfortunately, all my records got stolen when I was living in London, but I've got it on tape somewhere. I'll have to dig that out."
LAST RECORD YOU BOUGHT?
"Skunk Anansie's 'Stoosh' a great record."
RECORD THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
"It would have to be The Beatles more that anyone. It wasn't any one of their records, just an accumulation of them all. All sorts of records change your life for lots of different reasons The Shadows made me want to play guitar but I always wanted to be a singer as well, so when The Beatles came out that was very good for me because it wasn't the guy in front and his band, they were all doing it. I like all their records, they're my favourite band."
FAVOURITE ALBUM SLEEVE?
"Difficult one it's probably one of ours, maybe the 'Bastards' album we did. I like that."
WORST ALBUM SLEEVE?
"There's some crackers for that f**king title. I'll have to go for another one of ours, 'Iron Fist'. The record company did it while we were away and had to meet a deadline, so they slapped this big plastic fist on the front. I don't remember calling the album 'Plastic Fist'! I also thought John Lennon's 'Two Virgins' was pretty tacky. I don't need to see John Lennon's dick or Yoko's tits!"
FAVOURITE PUNK RECORD?
"It would have to be 'Neat, Neat, Neat," by The Damned, or 'God Save The Queen' by the Sex Pistols two records that have really stood the test of time."
RECORD YOU'D USE TO CLEAR A PARTY?
"There's this woman called Mrs Miller who had a lot of money but was desperate to be a singer, so she hired an orchestra and sang in front of her mates. She got it released and it's just horrendous. There's a great Kenny Everett anthology of terrible records called 'The World's Worst Record Show' that's got some of the worst singles ever made on it."
MOST EMBARRASING RECORD IN YOUR COLLECTION?
"I'm not embarrassed by any of them! Sure, there's a lot of duff records in there, but I'm not embarrassed by them I just don't give a f**k!"
RECORD YOU'D USE TO SEDUCE A MEMBER OF THE OPPOSITE SEX?
"I used to use those Monty Python comedy records, which proves my point if they want to f**k you, they're gonna f**k you!"
ALBUM YOU'D LOVE TO HAVE PLAYED ON?
"God, there's thousands of those. I'd love to have played on the MC5's 'Back In The USA' or The Who's 'Live At Leeds'. Two amazing live bands."
FAVOURITE RECORD IN YOUR PARENTS' COLLECTION?
"There was this song called 'Lady In Spain' that they used to play. I don't know who did it, but they used to play it and I liked it for some reason..."
OLD RECORD YOU'D RECOMMEND TO A KERRANG! READER?
"I remember when the first Elvis record came out, so I'd need to pick a classic from each era. I'll pick one from the '70's and recommend that people listen to Hawkwind's 'Space Ritual Alive'.
NEW RELEASE YOU'D RECOMMEND TO A KERRANG! READER?
"Our last album, 'Overnight Sensation', from all good record stores!"
